Terms of Use
Effective November 4, 2026
These terms apply to the websites at fdeofny.com, fdeofsf.com, and fdeoflondon.com and to the forms, events, and community Slack connected to them (the “Community”). The Community is operated by Sideko, Inc., doing business as Port of Context (“we,” “us”). By using the sites or joining the Community you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Membership
You must be at least 18 to join. Please give accurate information on our forms. Event capacity is limited and we may decide who attends. We may remove anyone from the Community who breaks these terms or the code of conduct.
Code of conduct
All members, attendees, speakers, sponsors, hosts, and volunteers must follow this code at events, in the community Slack, and in any other Community space. Organizers enforce it.
The Community is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in any Community space, including talks, parties, Slack, and other online media.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to the characteristics above, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Anyone asked to stop is expected to comply immediately.
Do not use Community spaces or the member list for unsolicited sales or recruiting outreach, and respect anyone who has opted out of being photographed or recorded.
If someone breaks this code, organizers may take any action they consider appropriate, including a warning or removal from an event or the Community.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concern, speak to an organizer at the event or email privacy@portofcontext.com. Organizers will help you contact venue security or local law enforcement and otherwise help you feel safe.
Adapted from the Conference Code of Conduct, licensed under CC BY 3.0. We changed it to cover the community Slack and added the rule on outreach and photography opt-outs.
Events
You attend events at your own risk and must follow the rules of the venue, which may include showing identification. Where alcohol is served, you must be of legal drinking age. Attendance may be photographed or recorded. You can opt out at the door, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Job board
Listings are gathered from public sources and curated by hand for your convenience. We do not employ, endorse, or represent the listed companies, and we do not guarantee that a role is open or that its details, including compensation, are accurate. Confirm them with the employer.
What you submit
You keep ownership of what you post or send us. You give us permission to use it to run the Community. If you speak at an event, you also give us permission to record your talk and to publish it along with your name and likeness, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Our content
The sites, including their names, logos, and design, belong to us or our licensors. You may not use them without our permission.
Disclaimers
The sites and the Community are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for what members, speakers, employers, or venues say or do.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the sites or the Community after a change means you accept it.
